Vincent Martial is an artist, musician and composer.
Starting as flutist and percussionist he evolves through sound fields by means of sonic devices and music instruments conceived, developed and built by himself.
Either in solo or through collaborations he observes the transformation phenomena of matter, aiming to explore its sonority.
He is interested on the sound and movement created live within scenic performances, as well as on the sound environment, the attention that we give to it and its use within the artistic domaine.
His sound research is tightly attached to a plastic research. From this combination he creates sound sculptures that transform the physical and the acoustic space they occupy.
His compositions include pieces played live by the elements in the installation, using both its movement and its materials as the writing base, as well as field-recording elements, electronics and traditional instruments.
His work around the flute includes these notions of transformation of the space and matter thanks to amplification and electro-acoustics.
His works have been presented in venues such as Tate Modern London, Guggenheim New York, Centro Cultural de Belén , Crac Sète, Teatro Romano (Archeological Museum of Lisbon), La Muse en circuit,Césaré CNCM, le Cube, Lisboa Soa, Voltaje Festival, TJP Strasbourg, TNG Lyon, Lieu Multiple, among others.
